City of Geneva recently issued the following announcement.
POSITION OPENING – POLICE CHIEF - CITY OF GENEVA, City of Geneva Ohio City Hall
The City of Geneva, Ohio, seeks an energetic and visionary leader to be its next Police Chief. Geneva is a growing community located approximately forty five miles east of Cleveland on Interstate 90. This key leadership position reports to the City Manager and is responsible for the public safety needs of a growing community. The ideal candidate will have the highest level of integrity, empathy, compassion, and ethics. The Chief will be results-oriented, open, honest, and accessible with a true passion for community policing. The Chief will be an active, involved and highly visible leader who has experience building strong and authentic relationships both inside the department and in the community. Possessing these qualities is essential for success in the position.
The Geneva Police Department currently serves Geneva City with a roster of one full time Chief, one full-time Captain, 10 Full time Police Officers one part-time officer, 4 full-time dispatch and 2 part-time dispatch. The Geneva Police Departments fleet consists of one Chief’s Vehicle and 7 police cruisers. The Geneva Police Department also administers a 12 day jail facility on site.
A competitive benefit package will be provided with a salary range of $63,356 – $68,931.
The Chief of Police must be an experienced executive who will build on past successes and inspire confidence and trust from the community, department, and executive team. A minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible law enforcement experience is strongly preferred, some of which should be in a command level/management capacity.
