The Stark County Sheriff’s Office Announces No Veteran Goes Hungry Food Drive

(Stark County, Ohio) – Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier is honored to announce the ‘No Veteran Goes Hungry’ Food Drive to support the Serving Area Military and Veterans Center (SAM) in Massillon.

From Wednesday, April 27th, 2022 through Friday, May 27th, 2022 the Stark County Sheriff’s Office is hosting two collection sites for nonperishable food items to serve local veterans and their families. Items can be dropped off at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Safety Building, 4500 Atlantic Blvd. NE in Canton and also at the Concealed Handgun License office at the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Training Center, 143 1st Street SE in Massillon.

“Those who have dedicated their lives to serving this country should not face food insecurity when they come home,” explained Sheriff Maier. “Unfortunately, it is the reality for far too many of these brave men and women. I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with the SAM center to serve these individuals as they have served us.”

The community is invited to drop of nonperishable items Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. through Friday, May 27th, 2022. Items will be collected and donated to the SAM Center following the conclusion of the drive.
