The kitchen staff at the Geauga County Jail has many responsibilities. They provide meals for the inmate population, plan menus, order supplies, stay within a budget, supervise inmate workers that are assigned to assist in the kitchen, and they must be able to accommodate food allergies and special diets.
Last year our kitchen staff served a total of 84,474 tray meals for 2021 and handed out a total of 336 bag lunches for a total of 85,810 meals served.
Todays lunch meal consisted of a meatball sub, homemade chocolate chip cookies, salad, and corn chips.
All meals are approved by a registered dietitian. Our kitchen staff along with all other areas of the corrections division go above and beyond to assure the fair treatment and safety of all prisoners that come through our facility.
