Stark County Sheriff’s Office Donates 4,000 Pounds of Food to Local Veterans Service Agency
(Stark County, Ohio) – The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce the collection of 4,000 pounds of food to support local veterans.
From Wednesday, April 27th through Friday, May 27th the Stark County Sheriff’s Office collected nonperishable food items to serve local veterans and their families. Items were dropped off at the Sheriff’s Office in Canton and also at the Stark County Sheriff’s Law Enforcement Training Center in Massillon. This was the first time the Sheriff’s Office hosted the drive.
“To say that Stark County showed up to participate in this initiative would be an understatement,” explained Sheriff George T. Maier. “We have been blown away by the support and generosity of this community.”
On Tuesday, May 31, 2022 deputies delivered the 4,000 pounds of food collected over the course of the food drive, to the SAM Center in Massillon.
“I’m completely overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and the quantity of food that was delivered here today by the Sheriff’s Office,” added Lucia Cirese, Executive Director of the SAM Center. “Truly, this is amazing. It’s amazing how generous our community is to our veterans and we are grateful for that.”
