Grateful for the Help

From November 04, 2022 post

We couldn’t have been more grateful for the help of One Tree Planted (located in Vermont) and Nestlé (located in Solon) yesterday during a special volunteer tree-planting at Veterans Legacy Woods! Nestle funded most of our work for the day – 135 native Ohio trees and shrubs – and also supplied 45 volunteer employees who were just great at planting trees and helping put up fencing to protect them. In addition to our partners, special thanks are due to Geauga Park District Biologist Paul Pira for many months of coordination, as well as Park Board Commissioner Jolene Carnabuci for showing up ready to work! Paul said annual reforestation efforts at Veterans Legacy Woods are planned for one priority area each year until the site has been completely planted, adding, “This is one of the best parts of this job: seeing people connecting with nature, appreciating it, and supporting what this park system stands for.” Kudos to everyone involved!
