A lot’s been happening this winter at The West Woods, located at 9465 Kinsman Road (Route 87) in Russell Township! Pick a day to escape the cold *or* embrace it with these all-ages activities.

--- INDOORS ---The West Woods Nature Center, open daily 10 AM to 4:30 PM, is a wonderful place to spend time surrounded by Nature.-Check out artist Deb Berkebile's amazing art quilt collection on display through April 30.-Meet live animals in their tanks including a Tree Frog, Grey Rat Snake, and special state-threatened Spotted Turtle.-Enjoy critters enjoying our wildlife feeding station from a sitting area near our lobby fireplace. New this winter: the life-sized “Bird Bingo" board, a fun way to check off the birds you see.-In the Discovery Room, partake in various hands-on play: puzzles, coloring pages, track rubbings, puppets and a Nature touch table. New this winter: "Ice Fort Building," where you can use cardboard "ice" building blocks to create cool structures for fun, imaginative play!-Crawl through a log, explore a beaver lodge, study mounts of native animals, and meet a live state-threatened Ohio native Brook Trout in our "Home Sweet Habitat" exhibit, exploring forest, meadow and pond.-Have you stopped by the Tree Tops Nature Store lately? It's full of affordable items to help you bring Nature home, and best of all, each purchase benefits your county parks!
