WARREN, OH – On August 30, Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) hosted Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) Director Jen Easterly at Kent State University – Trumbull County. The purpose of the meeting was to bring federal and state stakeholders together to discuss cyber readiness in communities in Ohio and across the country.

“As cyber threats grow increasingly dangerous, it is important for businesses in our community and state and local governments to prioritize cyber hygiene to fend off bad actors looking for new targets,” said Congressman Joyce, Chairman of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Homeland Security. “I appreciate Director Easterly for taking the time to share with us the types of cyber threats they’re tracking that target community and business leaders, CISA resources available to those entities, and how CISA works with communities like ours in Ohio.”

“Today’s roundtable was an excellent opportunity to meet with businesses and other community leaders in Northeast Ohio about the ways we can work together to safeguard our communities against cyber threats,” said CISA Director Jen Easterly.  “I’m greatly appreciative of Congressman Joyce’s invitation to be here today and of his tremendous leadership and support to CISA and our mission.  As America’s cyber defense agency, CISA provides resources and cybersecurity expertise to help organizations of all sizes improve their cybersecurity.  We know this isn’t a Beltway issue; it’s a front-line issue that faces our communities across the country—why today’s event was so important. CISA is committed to being strong partners and continuing to provide the support businesses, governments, and other organizations need to safeguard themselves against increasingly complex and sophisticated cyber threats.”
