WASHINGTON D.C. – On March 6, 2024,  Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) released the following statement on his vote for the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. The bill passed the House of Representatives and is now heading to the Senate for consideration.

“While the package is not as strong as I would like, House Republicans secured conservative wins, like fully funding veterans’ health care programs, that can pass a Democrat-led Senate and White House. Most importantly, this bill makes historic strides to put America back on the track to fiscal responsibility.”

This package includes Fiscal Year 2024 funding measures for the Appropriations Subcommittees on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies; Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies; Energy and Water Development; Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies; Military Construction, Veterans Affairs, and Related Agencies; and Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies.

OH-14 Wins:

“As an appropriator, I fought to bring your hard-earned tax dollars back to Northeast Ohio. This bill included over $38 million in funding for local priorities including funds for dredging, improvements to infrastructure and roads, and resources for first responders,” said Congressman Dave Joyce.

• $$2,400,000 for the South River Road waterline extension and Harpersfield water tower
• $530,000 to modernize equipment at the University Hospitals Geneva Medical Center Emergency Department 
• $2,000,000 for a trunkline in the Geneva-on-the-Lake Maine Sanitary Sewer 
• $2,200,000 for sanitary sewer improvements in Kingsville Township
• $3,887,379 for renovations at Ashtabula Towers 
• $375,000 for a roof renovation for the G.O. Community Development Corporation
• $6,757,000 for the New Hambden Volunteer Fire Department Station
• $2,700,000 for the McFarland Wastewater Treatment Plant
• $1,020,000 for revetment construction in Madison Township
• $2,000,000 for implementation of the design phase for the Interchange at SR 44 in Painesville
• $4,630,150 for road resurfacing on U.S. Route 20 Euclid Avenue 
• $4,500,000 for dredging in Fairport Harbor 
• $2,500,000 for a research vessel at Ohio State University Stone Laboratory in Lake Erie
• $4,200,000 for improvements to the water transmission and distribution system in Lordstown
• $1,500,000 for upgrades to the Hiram Village Water Treatment Facility
