Today, Representatives Dave Joyce (R-OH-14), David Rouzer (R-NC-07), Frank Pallone (D-NJ-06), and Emilia Sykes (D-OH-13) reintroduced the Beaches Environmental Assessment and Coastal Health (BEACH) Act. The funding provided through this bill helps state and local governments test, monitor, and identify contamination in recreational waters, such as the Great Lakes.

On Dec. 7, Representatives Dave Joyce (OH-14), Lori Chavez-DeRemer (OR-05), Brian Mast (FL-21), Earl Blumenauer (OR-03), and Troy Carter (LA-02) introduced a modernized version of the Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act to ensure that each State has the right to determine for itself the best approach to cannabis within its borders. This legislation also extends these protections to Washington D.C., U.S. territories, and federally recognized tribal nations.

Joyce Conservation Bill Passes House Natural Resources Committee
On October 26, Congressman Dave Joyce’s (OH-14) bill, H.R. 5009, the Wildlife Innovation and Longevity Driver Reauthorization (WILD) Act, passed out of the House Committee on Natural Resources. This bipartisan legislation would reauthorize the Partners for Fish and Wildlife Program, which enables wildlife and habitat conservation in all 50 states and territories, and the Multinational Species Conservation Fund, which supports the global conservation of imperiled species, including rhinos, elephants, tigers, great apes, and turtles.

Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) recently introduced bipartisan legislation to designate the United States Postal Service (USPS) office located in Chesterland, Ohio, as the “Sgt. Wolfgang Kyle Weninger Post Office Building.” Upon passage of the bill, USPS would be directed to install a dedicatory plaque displaying the name publicly in the facility’s lobby in memory of the late Marine.
