CHARDON LOCAL SCHOOLS: CHS Students Serve Up Produce for Gearity Community

Food

Chardon Local Schools issued the following announcement on Oct. 20.

In September, Chardon High School students in teacher Rob Mizen’s Chardon Service Learning class helped pack and distribute over 4,000 pounds of produce delivered by Greater Cleveland Food Bank to Gearity Professional Development Elementary School in University Heights. The Chardon students then helped distribute the free produce to the Gearity community while on-site at the school.

This service opportunity for CSL students is made possible by the Cleveland Food Bank’s School Market program, an initiative developed to reach more children and young families at risk of hunger. CSL students have been regularly volunteering at Gearity since the program was established at the school in 2019.
