Chardon Local Schools issued the following announcement on Feb 15.
The Chardon Schools Transportation Department has added GeoAlerts as an additional feature to the Stopfinder app. The GeoAlerts feature will allow identified users to create “alert zones'', which will notify the user when the bus has passed the alert zone. The new feature will also provide an approximate location of the bus.
Please review the tips, fact sheets, and video links listed below:
- The location of the bus is on a minor delay, less than a minute. The bus location icon moves in small segments, and this one-minute delay should be taken into consideration when setting your alert zones.
- The primary account holder can add additional users who will receive the same alerts. If your child has a phone, you can add them to receive notifications.
- We do have the ability to change buses within the app for consistent communication.
- You may have to turn on “push notifications” within the app settings on your phone.
- If you have children on the same route but different schools, be sure to set an accurate time frame of when to receive alerts on their AM/PM route.
