STARK COUNTY SHERIFF TO HAVE INCREASED TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT

Sheriff George T. Maier announces that the Stark County Sheriff’s Office will begin an enforcement period focusing on Impaired Driving.  This enforcement period will be:

May 1, through May 31, 2022

with 40 additional enforcement hours throughout Stark County and 10 hours of additional enforcement for the “Prom” blitz campaign.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office will have increased enforcement and patrol throughout Stark County during these periods and strictly enforce the laws concerning impaired driving.

Impaired driving is a serious concern in our country and in Stark County.  Every day 28 people die and every two minutes a person is injured in an impaired driving crash in the United States.  In fact, on average, two out of three people will be involved in an impaired driver crash in their lifetime.  Traffic crashes continue to be a leading cause of death for teens and young adults in the United States.

The Stark County Sheriff’s Office received a grant through the Ohio Department of Public Safety’s Ohio Traffic Safety Office, which provides for the additional funding and allows the Stark County Sheriff’s Office to participate in these programs.
