During the County Commissioners board meeting, Deputy Heath Manbeck was presented a life saving award from the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office and Buckeye State Sheriff’s Association. Heath received this award for his efforts to enter a smoke filled home and remove a disabled man when a kitchen fire accidentally began on Easter Sunday. Heath had to crawl into the house and use his voice to find the man stranded inside. Deputy Manbeck also received formal recognition from Commissioners Abbuhl, Metzger and Landis for his efforts.
